BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen)
BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen)
Service Description
The BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen) test measures the amount of urea nitrogen in your blood, a waste product produced by the liver and eliminated by the kidneys. It is an important marker for assessing kidney function. Elevated BUN levels can indicate potential issues with the kidneys, dehydration, or other conditions affecting the body’s ability to filter waste. This test is commonly included in routine health assessments and is essential for monitoring kidney health, especially for individuals with conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, or chronic kidney disease.
