What the 5-Panel Hair Follicle Detects
The 5-Panel Hair Follicle Drug Test is the standard 90-day lookback window.
The test detects:
-
THC (Marijuana, edibles, concentrates)
-
Cocaine (Powder and crack cocaine metabolites)
-
Amphetamines (Methamphetamine, MDMA/Ecstasy)
-
Opiates (Codeine, Morphine, Heroin)
-
PCP (Phencyclidine)
Detection Window
A 5-panel hair follicle test looks back 90 days—three full months of substance use history. As hair grows from the scalp, drug metabolites become embedded in the hair shaft, creating a long-term record that a urine test cannot catch.
If you need to detect very recent use (within the past week), a urine drug test is the better option. Test results in 3-5 days.

5-Panel Hair Follicle FAQ
How long does the 5-Panel Hair Follicle test take? The hair collection takes under 5 minutes. We collect about 1.5 inches of hair from the crown of your head — roughly the diameter of a pencil. Lab analysis takes 3 to 5 business days, with results posted to your secure patient portal.
Will employers and courts accept this 5-panel hair follicle test? Yes. The 5-panel is the standard hair follicle screen used for workplace drug testing, family court, custody documentation, and probation compliance. Results are processed by a SAMHSA-certified reference laboratory with chain-of-custody documentation suitable for legal and employer submission.
Can I do a hair follicle test if I have very short hair or shaved head? Yes. If you don't have enough head hair, we can use body hair. Body hair has a slightly longer detection window — up to 12 months in some cases — but follows the same testing process.
