Who it's for: Men 40 and over who want one yearly draw that covers the physical, the prostate and testosterone.
Why Choose This Panel?
This is the set most men over 40 should be getting yearly and almost nobody does, because it usually takes a physical, a referral and two bills. Here it's one morning visit and one price.
Run it the same month each year and your portal lines the numbers up: cholesterol, blood sugar, thyroid, PSA and testosterone, all trended. That trend is what a provider wants to see, and it's worth more than any single result.
What blood work should a man get every year?
The core is a CBC, a metabolic panel, a lipid panel and an A1c, which together cover blood cells, kidneys, liver, cholesterol and blood sugar. Most physicals add TSH because thyroid problems are common and quiet.
After 40, PSA for prostate screening and testosterone for energy, muscle and drive round it out. That's this panel. If anything is off, the single tests are available to recheck without repeating the whole set.

What If My Result Is Abnormal?
An out-of-range value is a flag, not a diagnosis. Most abnormal results on a routine panel are mild and explained by something ordinary: dehydration, a recent meal, a medication, a cold. The report marks each value against the lab's reference range so you can see exactly which number is off and by how much.
If something is flagged, you have options. Take the report to your own doctor. If you don't have a doctor, telehealth review of your blood work is available.
Do I need to fast for this panel?
Yes, if you can. Come in fasting, water only, for 8 to 12 hours. The glucose on the metabolic panel and the triglycerides on the lipid panel are the two numbers that move after a meal, and they're the ones a doctor compares against a fasting range. We open at 7 AM so you can be drawn and eat breakfast by 7:30.
If you can't fast, you can still be tested. The CBC, thyroid, A1c and testosterone don't depend on it, and a non-fasting lipid panel is now accepted for most people by major cardiology groups. Tell us at check-in whether you fasted so it's noted on your result.
How long do results take?
One to three business days from when your sample reaches the lab. Testosterone and PSA usually come in within two days; the rest arrives with them.
We send results the same business day the lab releases them, by text, to your patient portal. Telehealth review is available if you want someone to go through them with you.
