What Is Mycoplasma Genitalium?
Mycoplasma genitalium, often called Mgen, is a bacterium passed through sexual contact.
It causes the same kind of burning, discharge, and discomfort as chlamydia and gonorrhea, but most standard STD tests don't look for it. In men, it's a common cause of urethritis. In women, it's linked to cervicitis and pelvic inflammatory disease.
